Tapped by the Driller

As Hurricane Sophia closes in on a Gulf deepwater rig, safety inspector Lucas Li and driller Beaux Fontenot collide and catch fire—then Lucas has to choose what survives the storm: his rulebook or the life he wants with Beaux.

Lucas didn't earn the nickname "Terminator" by making friends. He earned it by shutting rigs down. So when he helicopters onto Bluewater Monarch with his pristine clipboard and spotless boots, nobody's rolling out the welcome mat—especially not the six-foot-three Cajun driller who speaks in gravel and honey and treats his safety citations like a spectator sport. Sharing an eight-by-ten cabin while a Category 2 bears down? That's just the Gulf's idea of a joke.

As the storm closes in, the oil rig turns into a pressure cooker. Lucas starts to see the difference between following rules and protecting people, and Beaux is suddenly at the center of every choice he has to make. What begins as friction becomes something a lot harder to outrun, especially when the sea gets rough and Lucas realizes the safe life he built for himself may be the one thing standing between him and what he really wants.
